BagFullOfSharts • 1 yr. ago. Yes, the 12.9 has a bigger brighter screen and it uses more battery. It’s far and away better than the 11 pro screen. It does have some bloom though so look out for that. However, 50% brightness is usually pretty good unless you’re in direct sunlight which saves quite a bit of battery.

I have used both. 11 is definitely more portable, it is good for daily use. Easy to pick up and surf internet, light use such as online shopping etc. 12.9 is heavier than 11. When I need something quick, I use my phone instead of 12.9. However, I picked 12.9 for my work. Especially for writing with Apple Pencil. The M1 will easily run as good as new for more than 5 more years. I've seen posts from people that have the 2018 iPad Pro and they say that it runs just as good as ever. The M1 is much more advanced than the chip in the 2018 Pro, so you are pretty much guaranteed that it will last even longer than the 2018.

If it’s an accessory device to say a desktop or MacBook, then the 11 is fine. You’ll appreciate the extra screen size especially in the editing (I do music and light video editing).
